Training needs analysis is a systematic process that identifies the gap between the knowledge, skills and competencies employees have and those their roles and the organization's goals require. HR departments use surveys, performance appraisals, interviews and competency assessments to decide who needs which training, and use the results to plan training programs and allocate budget more effectively.
