What is Plena Legal?
An AI-powered contract analysis and tracking product that reads supplier contracts, extracts key fields, flags risky clauses and missing items, and tracks critical deadlines. It is the legal module of the Plena product family.
Does it provide legal advice?
No. Findings are advisory warnings, not legal opinions. Every finding carries a verbatim quote from the contract and a rationale; the decision belongs to your legal team.
Which file formats are supported?
Word (.doc, .docx) and PDF. Scanned PDFs are read with OCR and e-signed PDFs are recognised. Unreadable pages are never hidden — they are reported as findings.
How is the risk score calculated?
The weight and severity of each finding in the rule set are summed with a deterministic formula — AI does not invent a number. Thresholds are set by your organisation (default: ≥30 medium, ≥60 high risk).
Can we add our own rules?
Yes. Rules are written in natural language; write a single sentence, click 'Expand' to draft the description, examples and keywords, and 'Test on contract' before saving. Separate sets and thresholds can be defined per contract type.
Why does every finding carry a verbatim quote?
Any finding whose quote cannot be matched verbatim in the contract text is discarded, and every remaining finding passes an independent second check. That eliminates hallucinations and 'where does it say that?' questions.
How do signature detection, authority checks and e-signature verification work?
These three controls operate as distinct capabilities: (1) Signature detection checks page images for handwritten signatures, company stamps and initials page by page. (2) Signatory authority verification extracts authorised signatories from signature circulars or powers of attorney and checks signatory match, joint signature rules, validity dates and amount limits. (3) E-signature verification validates the digital signature record and signer identity on e-signed PDF contracts.
Where do reminders come from?
End dates and termination notice deadlines are derived automatically from the start date, term and notice period, with graduated 90/60/30-day alerts and email reminders. Custom reminders can also be added manually.
Where is our data processed and is it logged?
Contract text, OCR output and page images are never written to logs, and AI calls run with zero-retention configuration. Data location depends on your deployment model (Cloud, Private Cloud, On-Premise) and is specified in the agreement.
How does the approval workflow work?
Analyzed contracts are presented to the relevant units in the sequence defined by your organisation. Users approve, reject or return the contract at their stage. All decisions, comments and timestamps are recorded.
Does it work with Plena Arşiv?
Contracts in Plena Arşiv are sent directly to Plena Legal for analysis. Risk findings, copy status and critical deadlines are tracked on the corresponding document record.
